STAUNTON -The boys competed in what is probably the strongest sectional track meet in the state. Jake Mahin placed in two events. Jake was 5h in the Shot Put with a throw of 34’10.5" and he was 4th in the Discus with 87’ 5". Devin Gerdes was 5th in the High Jump with a jump of 5’ 0". The 4 x 200m Relay, made up of Sam Allison, Larry Caldieraro, Matt Tingle and Bo Davis, took 5th place with a time of 2:11.0

6th Grade Boys results at the Carlinville 6th Grade Invitational

There were no team points awarded at the invitational, but ribbons were awarded to the top six individuals in each event. The following a6th grade boys placed: Bo Davis took a 4th place in the Long Jump (13’ 5") and 6th in the 100m Dash (14.6); Eric Lotter was 6th in the 1600m Run (6:37.3) and 3rd in the 110m Hurdles (20.3); Matt Tingle took 1st in the High Jump (4’ 5") and 6th in the 110m Hurdles (21.5); Austin Holak took 1st in the Shot Put (25’ 5") and 1st in the Discus (71’ 9"); Sam Allison was 3rd in the 800m Run (2:50.8); Logan Miller was 5th in the Shot Put (21’ 7"); and Sam Trettenero was 5th in the Discus (60’ 2").

Staunton also had all 3 of the boys’ relay teams place. The 4 x 100m Relay mad up of Conner Vesper, Eric Lotter, Lucas Meyer and Jacob Royer took 5th place with a time of 1:01.9. The 4 x 200m Relay with Sam Allison Larry Caldieraro, Matt Tingle and Bo Davis took 2nd place with a time of 2:06.7. The 4 x 400 meter relay run by Bo Davis, Matt Tingle, Lucas Meyer and Nick Ondes took 4th palce in a time of 5:16.4.
