Scouts celebrate with Blue and Gold ceremony

Boy Scouts who won during the recent derby were honored with their trophies during the Blue and Gold ceremony held recently at the Concordia Hall in Staunton. They are: Samuel Allison, (back row, left to right) Seth Mifflin, Blake Johnson, Nick Skorzewski, Daniel Pinkerton, Blaine Ray, Dallas Foster, Blake Kolesa, Cody Karl, Elijah Meyer, and Trystan Skorweski display trophies which they won during the Pinewood Derby races.

STAUNTON - Local scouts were honored during the Blue and Gold ceremony held at Concordia Hall on Tuesday, February 8.

Pack 33 and Troop 34 along with their leaders gathered to celebrate scouting. This is the 75th year for Cub Scouts and the 95th year for Boy Scouts.

The Staunton Cub Scouts have been organized for 56 years and the local Boy Scouts have been here for 39 years.

Many awards and trophies were awarded by leaders for the boys accomplishments. The trophies were provided by local Country Companies Agent Jeff Thompson.

Kathy Ward was also recognized for her ten years of service. Staunton VFW 1241 performed a "Missing in Action" table as well as assisted the scouts in presenting the colors.

The meal was provided by RJ’s Catering and the use of the Ballroom was donated for the event.
