HAMEL - It's been several years since residents in this small village have had a grocery store to call their own. But that is changing May 1.

DK's Market, located just west of the U.S. Post Office on Highway 140 will have nearly everything that homemakers need to make a meal from a snack to a formal dinner.

DK's Market is named after the four owner's children - Daniel, Kayla, Kaily and Katie.

The store is owned by four couples who decided to open a store after much thought. It has been a dream for some time.

The building will feature approximately 13,000 square feet of space. It will also have a complete meat department as well as a deli small bakery, and a produce department.

In addition to the store, there will be 5,000 square feet of retail space that is available for rent.
