Church Hosts Monthly Pancake Breakfast

STAUNTON - The threat of freezing, wet weather, which called to mind the ice storm that his this area last year on Nov. 30, was not enough to keep faithful customers at home Saturday morning as the First United Methodist Church here hosted its monthly Sausage and Pancake breakfast.

Foot Pantry Recipients Hit An All Time High

STAUNTON - November was a very busy month at the Staunton Food Pantry as more and more families sought assistance. According to Carole Sharp, Coordinator of the Food Pantry, 87 separate families visited the Pantry last month.

JV Scholastic Bowl Team Wins 1st Place

STAUNTON - The Scholastic Bowl teams at Staunton High School competed in the South Central Scholastic Conference Tournament at Breese, with six other high schools; namely, Hillsboro, Mater Dei, Gillespie, Litchfield, Bunker Hill, and Metro East Lutheran. Staunton's teams worked together to answer difficutl questions dealing with literature, math, science, art, and history.

First Ever 7th Grade Invitational Held in Staunton

STAUNTON - Staunton held the first ever 7th grade invitational last week. The tournament was set up in a round-robin style format. Nokomis, Bunker Hill, and Litchfield were the three other teams.

Eighth Grade Terriers Finish Second in Staunton Tourney

CARLINVILLE GAME - Staunton opened up the 49th annual Staunton eighth grade tourney against Carlinville. Opening up a comfortable 15 point lead after the first quarter, Staunton cruised to a first round victory, 45-11.  Ten Terriers scored.

Madison's Newest Employee is Staunton Resident, Beth Dufrain

STAUNTON - Beth Dufrain, of Staunton, is Madison Communications Company's newest staff member.  Beth accepted a position as a Customer Service Representative for Madison in October of this year.
