News Stories for January 2, 2008 Chamber Looking for Citizen of Year for 2008 STAUNTON - The Chamber of Commerce here is accepting nominations for the Staunton Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year Award is an award to honor any member of the community who has made a positive impact on the community. Benefit Planned for Local Family STAUNTON - The Friends of the Fuller Family and the Touchdown Club will be sponsoring a chicken and beer benefit dance for Doree Fuller to help offset medical expenses the family has incurred or will incur in the future. The event is set for Sat., Jan 19 at Condordia Hall in Staunton, with the doors opening at 5 p.m. Cost is $15 per person and includes chicken, corn, bread/butter, tea/coffee/water and four beer tickets. Bulldogs Take 5th at Carlinville Holiday Tournament The Bulldog varsity basketball team competed in the Carlinville Holiday Tournament last week. The Dogs took a #6 ranking into the tourney, yet emerged 2-2 overall, which was good for 5th place. The Dogs are now 7-6 (0-2 SCC East) on the season.
