VFW Ladies Auxiliary Essay Winners Noted

The Ladies Auxiliary honored the essay winners on Tues., April 17 during a ceremony they held.

The first place winners of the Patriot's Pen from Staunton Elementary was Lindsey Mathenia. The second place winner was Brittany Schrader. The third place winner was Christiana Fairman.

The "Voice of Democracy" theme was "Freedom’s Challenge." The first place winner was Katie Sievers. The second place winner was Katharine Volle. The third place winners were Katie Hitz and Diondra Horner. All winners were presented with citations and checks.

The winners for "Patriot’s Pen Essay" were also announced during this ceremony. The theme for The Patriots Pen Essay Contest was "Citizenship in America."

The first place winner from Staunton Elementary was Lindsey Mathenia. The second place winner was Brittany Schrader. The third place winner was Christiana Fairman.

The first place winner from St. Michael’s was Adam Lockhart. The second place winner was Ryan Wall. The third place winner was Courtney Darrah.

Also the Ladies Auxiliary presented Rick Haase-of the Fire Dept., Doug Hausmann-Ambulance Director, and Bob Mertz of the Police Department with citations.

Doug Hausmann and Rick Haase received citations from Bev Beyer and Jay Klein.
