Should Humans Have Same Protection as the Bald Eagle or Animals?

Did you know that it is illegal to even possess a feather of the Bald Eagle or that you can not touch an egg of one of these marvelous birds?

They are protected by law.

Yet, until recently, it was perfectly legal for a medical professional to rip a fully developed baby (up to the third trimester) from the safety of its mother's womb.

After going through a normal birthing process with all of the pain and discomfort, the baby is delivered, but the head is kept inside.

Then the baby is killed. I will not go into the full details, because children also read this newspaper. But it is not a pretty picture.

It makes me sick, just to write this. But that is partial birth abortion.

Last week the Supreme Court upheld a law that banned late term abortion. Right away, some folks screamed that the rights of women have been taken away.

What about the rights of the baby? Abortion is still legal.

This ruling could have a tremendous impact on the issue of abortion. The abortion battle has been a hot one since the court considered a case in 1973 that became known as Roe Vs. Wade.

I believe in rights for everyone - that includes the rights of children - all children those who are born and the unborn.

I also believe in rights of the elderly and those who can not take care of themselves.

Society has gone along with the senseless murder of children for so many years, that it won't be long before we will begin killing the elderly and those who can not take care of themselves.

This is a throw away society.

Some may not worry about the slippery slope that could lead to snuffing out the old and aged. But in a few years, those who are young may have a different opinion on these matters.

I recently read that state legislators are taking up the idea that animals have rights, similar to those of people.

As of today, animals have more rights than infants or the unborn.

A mother with the help of a doctor can kill her baby, but if you are cruel to a cat of dog, you better stand by because the court will prosecute you.

Now we are standing at a fork in the road. We have three choices. Consider that abortion is wrong. Believe that is not wrong, or stick our heads in the sand and do nothing.

I would suggest that we write our representatives.

This is, after all, a democracy, that is for those who are born. When told that someone is having an abortion, remember it's the baby who is being aborted, not the mother.

This is what I believe. All of us have our own opinions, but a baby who has been aborted will never be heard. That's why we must speak up for the unborn.
