Local Curves Holds Annual Food Drive

Sue Papajcik, Denise Reeder, Jenn Yarnik and Becky Fritz prepare to load show some of the collected goods for the food pantry.

STAUNTON - You don't normally see a fitness center advertising that it wants to collect food, but in this case, it was for a good cause, for the local food pantry.

Curves recently held its 9th annual food drive to help collect goods for His Service Station food pantry. This year the local Curves collected 415 lbs of food to donate.

The food was taken to the food pantry, Thursday, April 19.

Started in 1995, Curves is a women's fitness center that specializes in 30 minute workouts. Much of the work focuses on strength training and cardio workouts.

The business is a nationwide enterprise with fitness centers in all 50 states, with more than 10,000 locations worldwide. Members can go to any Curves no matter where the location.

Sue Papajcik and Denise Reeder are co-owners of not only Curves in Staunton, but three other stores as well. The Staunton location has been in business for 3-1/2 years.
